Cyberspace may be taken from the word cybernetics. "In his 1947 book Cybernetics, mathematician Nobert Wiener defined it as "the science of control and communications in the animal and machine." [pg 251, The Language of New Media] As Manovich tells us in the book, Wiener had derived the word from the Greek word kybernetikos, which means "good at steering". The internet is quickly approaching this medium of control.
