In medicine, there are technologies for different uses. Vision, diagnosis, life, wound healing, healing represent just some of these technologies. All of these technologies embody an answer to where cyborgs come from. They bring new information to the fetus. These technologies also aid in an array of fetal treatment technologies. Technologies of vision allow a fetus in utero to be seen outside of a woman's uterus. Embodied fetuses transform into symbolic film images. Many scholars consider ultrasound the the most important of the technoloies.Scientists originally developed ultrasound for detecting submarines during WWII. By using sound waves to take a picture of the fetus, ultrasound enables physicians to render the once opaque womb transparent, letting the light of scientific observation fall on the shy and secretive fetus. Ultrasound's main use is diagnosing fetal abnormalities which can be seen sonographically. The fetal abnormalities tend to be structural or organic problems. Many scholars cinsider ultrasound in the U.S. a routine part of parental care. This at least pertains to women who have access to it. The ultrasound image does not show the mother but symbolically and visually excerpts and isolates the fetus from her body, These visual fetal cyborgs replace the organic fetal beings still inside their mother's bodies in another part of the hospital or at home. Ultrasound also provides snapshots of s developing fetus for a pregnant woman. Ultrasound show fetuses as cyborg images.
