Her voice had trailed off, only a lingering smile hinting at the ending that she had suggested. The others stirred from their rapt attendance, gazing about the West Wing and blinking. At last, Miss Sunnington inquired, "So they eloped, then?"

Madame Vereaux refused to answer in full, saying only, "You know their situation now. What do you imagine happened?"

Gazing at the double-statue, Alma nodded and murmured, "Yes, I see."

"Come now," Madame Vereaux suggested, stepping away from the statue. "There's the rest of the Museum still to see. Where has Mr. Flowers gotten to?"
