Helen
She caught up with the ambassador from
Troy as he was preparing to ascend to the rooms that had been prepared for
him. "Sleeping so soon? The feasting has hardly begun."
He hesitated, regarding her in a manner that the most beautiful woman in the world had learned
to recognize instantly. "I am fatigued, and the crowd was telling on me. But I would not object
to a quieter conversation."
"Then you're going the wrong way. My chambers are down this corridor." She took his hand, and
he followed her.
Later, she confessed, "I cannot remain with my husband.
Though I am treated well here, I have grown so tired of the place... I long
to travel, to see other parts of the world."
"To see my homeland, perhaps?"
"Yes. Yes, perhaps."
