Whitehall Street - South Ferry

Just wondering, but have you realized that you are reading this on a computer screen. Or that there are words that I wrote that make this word
blink

that do not show up for the reader. Or even that there is so much going on in the computer to make this available to you, wherever in the world you are. Does it make you trust me less that if I had been saying all of this in a book that you had with you curled up in bed, or if I were saying this stuff to you in person? Only you can answer that question, but how you answer that question is going to determine the shape that hypertext as a medium takes on past the next millennium. There is one school of thought that believes that hypertext is the book of the future. That pretty soon all works will be read like this at the computer. Others believe that hypertext is its own distinct medium, and different from books, like radio is to television. Hypertext as we know it has its share of pros and cons. The development of hypertext is exciting and revolutionary in its capabilities. I hope that I have presented these capabilities to you, and perhaps, let you in on how it feels to be me.
