Is Hypertext Fiction possible? (Or does the link privilege poetry?)

What is the effect of hypermedia technology, which enables text composed of blocks of words (or images) linked electronically on literarture as an art?

Not all Digital Fiction is Hypertextual. In fact, there are many kinds of e-literature and internet literature.

But all that is hypertextual challenges conceptions of fiction since Aristotle.
