Random Cloud, 'Information on Information,' in Text: Transactions of the Society for Textual Scholarship (New York: AMS Press, 1984), pp. 248-50. One has only to look at the generous sprinkling of extra 'e's in the Folio text to realise that the letter was used more generally and freely in the Renaissance.
