Searchable Text
For example, one can search e-text for letters and other characters, words, or various groups of them.
Analyzable Text
One can also take advantage of such code-based textuality to check the spelling, grammar, and style of digital text -- often with somewhat mixed results.
Text as Simulation
Move the code, and make the text move to show things impossible to present with a static image or text. Such capacities permit one to argue by demonstratingthings often too difficult to show easily with linguistic argument.
