Welcome to my latest hypertext project: "The Wrong Way to Write/Right: An Autobiographical Catharsis of Reading and Writing."
This project is a personal attempt to find some expression for my ideas on reading and writing. It is a forum for me to discuss how I read and write, to critque my reading and writing styles, and to juxtapose quotes from different authors that relate to reading and writing.
Since I began writing in the hypertextual medium in particular, and with computers in general, I have been dismayed at what I see as a decline in the quality of my written work. In this project, or, quite aptly, catharsis, I attempt to purge myself of these ideas, explore the difference between handwriting and computer writing, and emphasize the role of hypertext writing in this evolution. My personal goal is, on the one hand, to look at my writing, especially my past hypertext projects, in a new and critical light. On the other hand, the section on "hypertext hacks" in The Wrong Way to Write/Right implies that we are and maybe are warranted in being more forgiving of hypertextual writing.
Above all, this project is also an attempt at creative expression...
