The Storyspace Roadmap feature. The Roadmap, which appears at the upper left, represents a static analogue to the Intermedia Web View. At the top center of the Roadmap appears one's reading history and, immediately below it, the first few lines of the currently active lexia. Like the Web view, the Roadmap informs readers of possible destination lexias and, like it, permits them to open them directly, but unlike the Intermedia tool, which displayed only destination lexias, the Roadmap displays both all links in and out of the current lexia. Unfortunately, whereas the Web View always remained in sight and automatically reconfigured itself as each new document opened, the Roadmap appears only upon demand and has to be opened separately for each document opened.
