ECCENTRICITY There is not much room in the city for the eccentric individual -- at least, he won't be successful.  Also . . . The homeless are crushed.  The meek are crushed.  The quitters are crushed.  The passive are crushed.  The losers are crushed.  People are crushed by the fast pace of modern life.
