Science/Fiction: Connections Across Disciplines

Patrick Nagle, English 65, The Cyborg Self, Brown University (Fall 2006)

With this project I aim to reveal and draw connections between two seemingly disparate disciplines: science and the study of science and technology; and literature/literary theory. These fields, which C.P. Snow called "The Two Cultures" to emphasize their differences, intersect in areas such as science fiction, theories of self and identity, and the effects of language and narrative.
