Stephen Emory Barnes [1952-]
Steven Barnes was born on March 1st, 1952, in LA, California. His father was Emory Flake Barnes, his mother Eva Mae Reeves.
He attended Pepperdine University from 1970 to 1974, and in 1972 received second-place in the National Korean Karate Championships. His works include numerous sci-fi novels, television cartoons, and the screenplay for The Secret of NIMH.
Barnes has expressed his interest in the novelization of human development, both mental and physical. To further such aims he researches psychology, parapsychology, kinesiology, practices and teaches martial arts, meditates, and studies comparative religion and philosophy.
Barnes is married and has one daughter. His last recorded residence is in Santa Clarita, California.
