Two novels EXPLODED HEART and CITY COME A-WALKIN' may be considered genre literature (pre or post perhaps) and were recently rereleased within the last few years (with intros by Bruce Sterling and William Gibson respectively). I haven't tracked them down yet (they are probably very hard to find in any case) but I'd look for them. See the darkecho site for reviews.

• BTW: See Gibson's Neuromancer for a reference to The Panther Moderns (I'm curious to know which came first, the band or the novel). In addition, note that Gibson and Sterling wrote a short story (in Burning Chrome) called Red Star, Winter Orbit. Shirley has a thing for punk music, and has been likened to a character from Eclipse, the musician Rickenharp (see the darkecho site above for a complete review of the album).
