Author Function: Classification

An author's name can group together a number of texts and thus differentiate them from others. A certain stigma or mentality is usually attached to an author's name, and this causes that author-name to affirm a prototype on the kind of books he/she writes.

Therefore, the mere mention of an author's name creates a mindset in us, and we start to speculate the kind of texts that is usually written by him/her.
