So who is the Author here???

Who is thus speaking here?

Is it Balzac, the individual?

Or the hero or rather the antagonise of the story, Sarrasine, the sculptor, who insisted on ignoring the true identity of the "woman"?

Is it Balzac the author professing "literary" ideas on femininity?

Who is narrating the story or perhaps in the first place at all, there isnít anyone narrating at all!
