Baggage...
Every author carries with him a great amount of baggage that comes with his reputation or his disrepute. By eliminating the author, we rmove the sterotyping of the work, enabling a more objective reading. This also allows for the democratising of the work. If the essence desired is inherent in the author's place and space in soceity, and or the context in which he is writing in, then those who are otherwise ignorant of them will be alienated. So isn't it better not to have the author?
