In a team production, who is the author?

Could there be one writer and another author, necessitating Barthes' distinction between the two?

Are ideas truly more important than their authors?

Do ideas even have authors?

Newton and a French mathematician came up with the concept of differentiation at around the same time.

they are writers of different papers on the same subject but authors of the same idea?

DOES ALL THIS REALLY MATTER?

" The author performs a function. The writer an activity..The author is the man who labours, who works up his utterance (even if he is inspired) adn functionally absorbs himself in this labour.."

---Roland Barthes
