Who does authorship belong to in the hypertextual, hypermedia world?

Who is the author of any work?

We cannot define clearly who in fact is the author of a text/project. The boundaries of a work can only be determined by the reader. (The reader moves around in cyberspace for information. All the texts, images, animations and so on that the reader have come across are part of the work.) In addition, 'authorship' does not belong only to the author/writer of the text and the reader.

It belongs to many others who have made that particular work possible in the hypertextual/hypermedia world.

"...'authorship' of individual texts in a hypermdeia environment becomes even more problematic than in the world of print"

- George P. Landow
