Plato claims that every general term, like "bed," for example, has a Form. This sole, unitary Form applies to a plurality of beds, indeed, to every Bed, be it real or simulated.

This Theory of Forms is thus the theory of universals:

"Forms are eternal and uncreated," as opposed to being made by God.
