This scratchbuilt sandhouse wears the bright colors of the Albion, Pawtuxet, & Gallilee Railroad -- my mythical 1880s Rhode Island line that connected the textile mills of Albion in the north with Pawtuxet (a stand-in for Providence), and Galillee, a small fishing town in the south. A full-page color photo of the sandhouse appeared in the February 1979 Railroad Modeler as part of a long article entitled "Make Mine an Old Timer." [Other views: trackside view; in place on the AP&G]
Thanks to e-Bay, it now has a home in Florida.
