Steam-driven Sawmill. The sawmill was built from a wonderful Fine Scale Miniatures kit, to which I made slight modifications (I created a the blacksmith's shop in a separate shed and used the space assigned to the shop for a company office furnished with Scale Structure desk, sofa, and chairs). This kit taught me the pleasures of building HO models board by board, which I later used in creating the lumber company's mess hall. Its lavishly detailed castings showed me the value of packing a scene with realistic components. [Other views]
