Artist's statement:
The fluidity of pixels is an important characteristic and tool of digital images. The image expresses the layering fluid upon fluid, a waterfall under a sea, and even the image is expressed as a fluid itself. Recognition of the sea is not by distortion of the images within the sea, but by the rippling sheen of the water edge. In the same way the image is expressed as a fluid not by distorting the image within but by distortion of the edges.
Technical explanations:
By using magic wand marquee, the waterfall is cut out and layered above the image of the sea. The edges of the image are distorted by using the smudge tool.
