The Future of Hypertext
A fine question, and one that cannot be answered so easily, as it is critically
dependent on technological improvements and consumer interest. But it's
much more fun to speculate anyway.
Well, first you might want to take a look at Myst. Rand and Robyn Miller
seem to be going in the right direction. And they created this game a good
three years ago, as of 1996 -- that's three years of untapped new technology.
Perhaps they've proven that when it comes down to it, all the new hardware
and software isn't worth a dime if you don't have the creativity to back
it up.
So what's so good about this Myst anyway?
Or are you still itching to hear about the future
of hypertext and multimedia?
