The Twin Peaks Experience
Did David Lynch realize he was constructing a would-be brilliant hypertext?
Probably not. Of course, one must recognize that in many ways, this expansive,
overlapping monster of an endeavor in many ways exceeds its computer-grounded
counterpart. After all, Lynch created a sweeping, but more importantly,
physically tangible scavenger hunt of sorts which pervaded several distinctly
different facets of our existence. Such a project can be reproduced on the
computer, but only to certain extent.
But at the same time, the hypermedia counterpart has the capability of stretching
even further into different realms of our culture, albeit virtual.
