Where do we go from here?

I have tried to explore the many ways that advertising has already affected the Internet so far in these waning years of the twentieth century. These early forms are akin to the primordial soup from which modern life arose. The Internet will continue to evolve in a Darwinian fashion, and advertising will co-evolve with it. From the town-crier of yore to the pamphlets and handbills after Gutenberg's day to the radio and television ads in the twentieth century, advertising has found a way to adapt itself into any medium. Who knows what virtual and alien (extra-terrestrial or figuratively) worlds advertising will inhabit next? |
