Jeff Pack, Brown University '99 (English 112, 1996)
In September of 1995, I showed up at Brown University with a new computer in tow and within a few weeks connected it via twisted-pair cable to the Net, and haven't looked back since.
My computing habits have changed a bit since arriving at Brown. The speed of the network (far greater than my connection to America On-Line) and the fact that using it didn't tie up the phone line gave that subset of applications a far greater prominence than it had with me at home. Other uses, though, like writing, didn't change much at all (except when writing electronic texts in HTML).
