Motive Power on the East Bay and Westerly Railroad
As twilight falls, the EB&W’s heaviest locomotive, No. 171, an 4-8-0, moves past the sand tower in the East Bay yards.

Left: No.151 pulls a Wisconsin Central hopper past a small factory along the route. Right: No 371, an old box cab diesel possibly purchased second-hand from the Jersey, has been assigned to Maintenance of Way duties.
Leaving a tunnel, the boxcab diesel has in tow an old boxcar and a transfer caboose.
