Max Headroom: Limitations & Advantages
Max Headroom has no physical form, and exists only as a software image that moves from screen to screen. He has a personality that's more like a child than a computer, and is full of idiosyncrasies (which runs contrary to typical software). Max will presumably live forever, thereby allowing a part of Edison Carter to live forever as well since Max is an imprint of part of Edison's mind.
Since Max exists only within the network, no one can mistake him for a real human in person. However, one could conceivably mistake his image for the image of a real person. But since we only experience Max as an image, mistaking his image for a person's is effectively mistaking him for a person. Even so, we can't touch Max, we can only see him and hear him.
