SUPPLEMENT AND TEXT: Hypertextualizing highly referential texts makes them much more accessible to the non-scholar. Hypertextualizing a text makes reference materials more available in some ways, although it creates a bigger distinction between linked texts and unlinked texts, such that relatively, unlinked texts are unreachable. Hypertextual texts blur the boundaries between supplement and text. The breakdown of distinctions between text and supplement which is possible with hypertext lends itself to metaphors about cyborgs and the relation between the body and technological prostheses.
