This console is a successor to the NES. It offers different and faster processed games, better graphics, and more control to the user through more buttons. This is another popular console developed by Nintendo, which only fell out of popularity once the N64 was developed. It still stands as a console that has a very large library of games, especially games of the RPG variety.
Again, the Zelda series was seen on this console in Link to the Past, with much more content, and story telling than in the past versions.
An interesting attachment to this system, which allowed for extensible hypertext systems to be implented on it was the BS-X, or Satellaview.
The N64 succeded this system in 1997 (USA release)
