Zelda I is the first game in the Zelda series. It was developed for the NES, by Nintendo. The game starts by dropping the user in the virtual world, without any direction or main goal in mind. In this, the user is encouraged to find a weapon, and explore the rooms. Eventually, the user will find his goal, and attempt to accomplish it. The game had less text in it than most of the games that followed it, but many of the players agree that it was one of the most challenging and fun to play.
The world map, and exploration in this RPG is what made it like a hypertext system. In a sense, it is almost like playing a text based game with NSEW commands, but in real time, with real time combat.
